i’ve been told by people that i have blush blindness. but the truth is, i know i wear a lot of blush, i just don’t care! i love the way it looks! it’s my face, why do people care so much ??!?
I don't wear makeup every day only for occasions but I love blush. I always use loads and even though I'm pale I've started using deeper mauve and berry shades and I love it. I couldn't care less what anyone thinks I like it that's all that matters to me
I do think it's interesting that people have opened themselves up to the sometimes overly harsh criticism of the internet and they've gotten genuine/helpful reactions. For as bad as it could be, it is nice to see people trying to be constructive rather than mocking or condescending.
however, i do completely agree that the amount of blush can be perceived differently when you put on eyeshadow or a lipstick. all down to personal preference and makeup harmony!
I had to get off of makeup Reddit because the phrase “makeup blindness” has become a pet peeve of mine, even when people are asking for constructive criticism. If anybody needs me, I will be studying iconic looks by Kevyn Aucoin.
Robert in the videos i really didn’t see anything glaringly obvious about the peoples makeup. Maybe just some random tweaks to bring it to the next level. Why do people think they can call out others on their look is beyond me. There are ways to get people to accept constructive criticism without being rude. I loved this thread ♥️🌷
You are right on point, Robert. We (non-MUAs) sometimes get “stuck” on replay and lose perspective. I also think that there is a big difference between screen makeup and real life makeup. Day make-up & evening. What might be appropriate in natural sunlight may make us look washed out and plain in the evening artificial. Also, glitter, frost and metallics (just as an example) are usually more appropriate in the evening.
But then again, in this day and age, like you say, who cares? You do you. That’s the wonderful thing that the younger generation has pioneered for all of us. Today anything goes, with little to no judgement (unless of course you’re putting yourself out there on social media like poor Peachy).
I hope you continue your journey on this platform. Your warmth and your expertise come through in your words. You are a brilliant writer and I really enjoy reading what you write. Keep up the wonderful work -we all benefit greatly from it!

100%! If only it was always like that!
